Proudly situated atop the highest point on the Harbour foreshore the heritage listed Sydney Observatory commands a sweeping vista of the glistening Harbour. The historical building was completed in 1858 and is in the Italianate style which brings new dimensions of interest as a backdrop to your special celebration. The imposing position and manicured lawns make all events memorable and your guests will be delighted with this unique opportunity to view the Harbour from such a vantage point. The sandstone structure with its copper telescope domes and tower to view the southern skies has enthralled astronomers for a century and a half. The Sydney Observatory is the ideal site for your distinctive event.

MARQUEE A hidden gem A hidden gem within Sydney's CBD - from mid-February to mid-March and mid-November to mid-December the Sydney Observatory erects a beautiful marquee overlooking Observatory Hill, Walsh Bay and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. RUSSELL ROOM intimate space Within the Sydney Observatory the Russell Room offers an intimate space with its own private balcony facing the Harbour Bridge. The venue accommodates up to 12 guests for a seated event or 20 for a cocktail (not including the outdoor balcony). The marquee can host sit down events of up to 150 guests and cocktail events of up to 250 guests.
